About

Built by people who know retail

EANScan was born from years on the ground with retailers, watching the same problem repeat itself.

Our mission

Help retailers stop publishing generic PDPs and start owning their product content.

Our story

From advising retailers to building the tool we kept wishing existed

For years, we worked alongside French retailers — running catalog projects, sitting with e-commerce teams, watching the same battle play out: thousands of products, supplier descriptions copied straight into PDPs, no bandwidth to make any of it sound like the brand.

The pain came up in every conversation. Heads of e-commerce knew their content was generic. They knew it was costing them conversions, SEO, and differentiation. They just couldn't fix it without an army of copywriters.

So one day, we stopped advising and started building. We turned the workflow we'd been recommending into an API: drop in an EAN, get back enriched, on-brand, conversion-focused product content. Our first beta customer was thrilled with the result. EANScan was born.

What we believe

Four convictions that shape the product

Retailers own the brand voice — not suppliers

Your PDPs should sound like your store, not like a manufacturer data sheet. Brand tone is a config in EANScan, not an afterthought.

AI serves catalog teams, doesn't replace them

Generation is fast; review, taste and editorial judgment still matter. We ship a workflow that respects your team, not one that bypasses them.

The EAN is the trigger, not the answer

A barcode is the easiest input you have. Everything downstream — enrichment, structure, persona-aware copy — is the actual product.

European retail deserves European-grade trust

GDPR-aligned by default, transparent about data flows, built for the privacy expectations of European catalog teams.
